Will the rules always be free?
Yes! We plan on selling physical copies of the rules once the beta is finished, but we plan on keeping the rules free online forever.
It says beta. Is it done?
No! The rules will not be done for a very long time, and we plan on updating both the core rules and the monster rules frequently.
Can I play without buying any Monster Friends?
Feel free to play the game with whatever models you'd like, but Monster Friends is not a model agnostic game system. All rules have specific Monster Friend models that correspond to them.
What's an Emotional Instability Test?
Some abilities might require a monster to make an Emotional Instability Test. To do so, find the Emotional Instability stat (EmI) on their Monster Card, then roll 2d6: if the number is equal to or greater than their EmI, the Emotional Instability test is passed! If not, your monster is having a rough time.
Why Make It Free?
We're insane! Sick in the head! We have bad business instincts and want to bleed money. We also want people to play our game.
